Parking 101

The HighRoad does not have it’s own parking, but there is a public parking garage across the street.

See below for more information on the garage and other parking options.

Parking Garage

Name: Colonial Parking Garage

Address: 2421 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 - (Link to Google Map of the parking garage)

The garage charges approximately $22+/overnight and $17/overnight if you park before 8AM.

On the weekends it is $3 more to park overnight. The overnight rates end at 7AM, sharp. Therefore If you park overnight, after 7AM the garage starts charging by the hour again.  If you do not want to pay extra, you'll have to move your car before 7AM to avoid paying more than the overnight rate.

Parking on Our Street

We are located on Belmont Rd NW. Some parking spots are metered and some are not. Some spots are permit holder only and some have 2 or 3 ½ parking limits. Confusing, we know!

We strongly advise you to read all signs when parking and abide by the signs specified rules before parking.

Parking On Belmont on The HighRoad Side of the Street (Even Numbered Buildings)

Hotel Loading Zone: You may pull up to this spot to unload your belongings, but you cannot park in this area for hours or overnight. You will get a ticket.

2 Hour Parking Limit In Zone 1 Zone7AM - 8:30 PM Monday - Friday (Permit Holders Accepted): If you have a Zone 1 parking permit, you are able to park without any limits. If you do not, you can park for up to 2 hours at a time during the specified days of the week during the specified time on the sign. After 8:30PM during the weekdays, you can park without time limits, but you must move your car by 7 AM. On Saturdays and Sundays, you can park without limits.

Parking On Belmont Opposite Side of the Street As Us (Odd Numbered Buildings)

2 Hour Parking 9:30 AM - 6:30 PM Monday - Friday | Saturday 7 AM - 6:30 PM: During these days and time frames, you must use the meter or PayMobile website/app to pay to park for up to 2 hours. Sundays allow for parking without limits.

3 ½ Hour Parking 6:30 PM - 10 PM Monday - Saturday: At 6:30 PM the 2 hour time limit increases to 3 ½ hours. During the 3 ½ hour timed parking, you also must pay to park using the meters or PayMobile website/app. 

In short, Monday - Saturday until 10 PM, you must pay to park and abide by the time limits on the sign.  After 10 PM, you can park without paying, but must move your card by the morning either 9:30 AM on weekdays or 7 AM Saturdays. Sundays you may park, without paying and no time limits. 

Zone 1 Resident Only Monday - Friday 7 AM - 8:30 PM: During the weekday from 7 AM-8:30 PM, you can only park here if you have a Zone 1 Parking Permit. Outside of these hours on weekdays (8:30 PM - 7 AM) and all day Saturday and Sunday, parking is unrestricted.

How to Pay for Street Parking 🚗✨

Park Mobile App or Website

  1. Enter parking zone number either printed on the meter or on the ParkMobile sign on the street

  2. Select the duration of time you want to park

  3. Confirm your information and start your parking session

  4. The app or website helps monitor your time and gives you options to extend your parking remotely if needed.

How to Use The Parking Meters

  1. Press start to begin

  2. Insert coins or swipe card and follow on screen instructions to add time

  3. Press the green button to complete transaction

  4. The meter will give you a receipt to display visibly on your dashboard for proof of payment. Do not forget to display it!
